As asset valuers with twenty plus years experience of valuing non property business assets we have been asked to value some very – well let’s say esoteric items over the years – but none so unusual as one recent enquiry that came to us via the Competefor (2012 Olympic Games) website. One of the London Boroughs has recently taken the decision to move it’s funeral operations to a private operator and required the plant and equipment for one crematorium and two cemetries to be valued.

We were intrigued to know what was required and following some discussion with what finally turned out to be our client, were given the go-ahead and were able to complete the task on time and on budget. We later learned that our client had tried various regular sources including auction houses, property valuers and surveyors to quote for the work without success.
